Blackhawk Trace Golf Club at Indian Lakes resort is a 27 hole resort Golf course located in Bloomington, Illinois. The club offers three nine-hole courses -- the Highland, Woodlands, and Island -- which give the option of playing just nine holes of three different 18-hole combinations.
The courses opened for play in 1965. Blackhawk was designed by Robert Bruce Harris. The course underwent a $3 million dollar renovation by Rick Jacobsen in 2003.
The traditional '60s-era bunkers were replaced with dramatically sloped sand traps that present a test for even the best golfers. Although the renovations added to the golf course's difficulty, four different sets of tees allow golfers to play to their abilities.
Woodland Nine
The Woodland Course is the longest of the three nines at 3,480 yards from the back tees. The Woodlands is a course that will appeal to players of all skill levels.
Highland Nine
Almost as long as the Woodland, and just as challenging is the Highland course ar 3,449 yards.
Island Nine
All three nines are distinct, though the Island Nine, with its 155 yard island green par-3 hole, is the favorite of most golfers. It's only 6 yards shorter than the Highland course measuring 2,443 yards from the tips.
Closed end of 2016 season.
The Hilton Chicago/Indian Lakes Resort permanently close its golf course and conference center as part of a plan to save and improve the hotel on the Bloomingdale property.
The course had lost $5 million dollars since 2011.

I have played course several times over last couple years, one of the nicer yet challenging courses in this area for a fair price.

Bent Tees, Fairways & Greens, on a better than average maintenance schedule make this a delight to play. The Gold Tees(6500 yards) for an average golfer makes it more than challenging. Though not especially difficult, strategically placed sand traps make up for ease of game. Its pricey for walk ons, and in season, but off hours and specials are well worth to play. The Driving range and Putting Greens are also great added venues. Overall 5 Stars from a 79 year old.

Nice courses. Paid $45 for 18 w/cart from an online deal...I would not recommend paying $90. Everything is well kept and what you would expect from a decent resort course. The new Island nine is nice, and probably tougher than the others, but all are similar in prestige. My only complaint is that they squeezed in the first two holes of the Island nine between houses on the left and driving range on the right. The island green makes up for it though. True TPC Sawgrass style.
